FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Is there a minimum or maximum team size?

HAYMARKET: Teams of 2-6 can play Carnival of Curiosities while Ocean’s Escape and 8 Years Later are limited to 5 players.

MORRISON STREET: All four rooms allow teams of 2-6

Is there an age restriction?

While there is no restriction on age, the puzzles may be too demanding for those under 10. Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult as part of the group in the room.

How do I travel to Escape via public transport or on foot?

HAYMARKET: Our Haymarket site is 2 minutes up Dalry Road from Haymarket Station. It is also easily walkable from the West End of Princes Street.  Head straight on along Shandwick Place and keep going until the major junction where the road forks at Haymarket (the name of street you are on will change a few times).  Take the left fork up Dalry Road and you will find us on the right hand side just before the British Heart Foundation furniture shop.

MORRISON STREET: Our Morrison Street site is at the top end of Morrison Street, close to the junction with Lothian Road.  It is inside Game of Throwing, our axe throwing venue, opposite Odeon cinema and Sainsbury’s.

Is Escape accessible?

HAYMARKET: The building is accessible from the street and our Ocean’s Escape game is on the ground floor and fully accessible.  Carnival of Curiosities and 8 Years Later are situated in the basement and therefore not accessible. Unfortunately the toilet facilities are also located downstairs and so not accessible.

MORRISON STREET: Houdini’s Workshop is on the ground floor but is up a couple of small steps that can be accessed via a ramp. This may not be suitable for larger wheelchairs. The other 3 games are situated in the basement and therefore not accessible.

We recognise that not all disabilities involve a wheelchair so please feel free to ask if you have any questions.

I am driving to Escape, is parking available?

HAYMARKET: As Dalry Road is a Greenway it is best advised to park on a nearby side street where pay and display parking is available.  This is free Sundays and evenings. Please allow at least 90 minutes.

MORRISON STREET: The closest place to park nearby is in the car park on Semple Street.  It may be possible to park on Morrison Street itself at times when parking restrictions do not apply.
